CARRIER CONTRACT REVIEW

CAILBA began the Contract Review by asking our Members to volunteer for the Working Group. We engaged a lawyer from McKenzie Lake in London, Ontario to review all carrier contracts and provide us with her thought on each contract. We asked that the review be conducted with a few goals in mind. We wanted to identify:

  • Any place where the contract posed significant risk to the MGA
  • Any place where MGA processes were not in compliance with their contracts
  • Any outdated clauses
  • Any clauses that didn't make sense to either party

The working group was formed in Feb/March 2008 and included Terri DiFlorio, Mari-Jayne Woodyatt, Casey Brandreth, and Caron Czorny.
